In-stream revitalisation Witibach Grenchen

Downstream of the residential area and alongside the airport, the Witibach runs along a monotonous, partially hard-banked channel. Due to limited space, 1.5 km of this river was revitalised using in-stream measures in the context of an ecological renewal project. For this purpose, various deadwood structures (root-wads, anchored logs, felled trees, fascines, brushwood layers) as well as gravel fills, disrupting boulders and a site-appropriate tillering of the riverbanks.
